If you have ever lost your dog then managed to reunite with it later, then you know how that experience feels.
That is precisely how Alan Whitton felt when he finally reunited with his Jack Russell pet dog. Dogs are not just pets; to most people, they are part of the family. That is why many people cherish their dogs and can do anything to ensure that they are safe and happy.
Alan Whitton was taking his dog named Mitzi out for a routine walk as he has done for the last couples of years. However, this time things were different because he came across a woman who was also walking with her two dogs. Amazed with the dogs, Allan decided to approach the lady for a quick chat.
However, things did not go as planned. The lady accidentally let go of her dog’s leash, and the dog went straight to Alan’s dog. Mitzi, on the other hand, ran away as fast as she could because she was scared of the big dog that was chasing her.

Surprisingly, Allan did not mind her dog running loose because he was sure that her dog will come back to him as she always does. For him, he thought that Mitzi was only playing and will come back as soon as the play was over.
However, he later sensed that something is not right after he noticed that her dog did not show up fast as it normally does.
The reality that her dog might be lost did not go well with him. He couldn’t imagine losing a dog that he loves so dearly. After realizing that Mitzi was not coming back, he immediately started the search effort.
He tracked the route that her dog followed to look for any signs that would take him to Mitzi but sadly, he was not able to locate her despite all his rescue effort. All these happened on November 20.
Alan felt guilty because he let his dog loose. To him, he thought that he made the wrong decision for trusting his dog too much. He was confident that the dog would return as it has done many times before.
He felt horrible because he could not be with his pet that he considers part of the family. And the worst part is that he was the one responsible.
He immediately decided to post on his Facebook account to see if other people around his neighbourhood would help him locate his dog. In addition to posting on his social media account, he also printed leaflets and handed it to any person he came across in the neighbourhood.
Alan could not sleep, knowing that is four-legged friend was not by his side. He did not know whether Mitzi was alive or dead, and that made him feel terrible. Allan had a bad emotional breakdown the second night of his dog’s disappearance while he was driving around the neighbourhood trying to see if he will spot her.
On the third day of Mitzi disappearance, Allan woke up and prepared himself really to do her routine chores. He was heartbroken and started to come to terms that his best friend could be dead. But out of nowhere, someone contacted him telling him that he had spotted a dog and even sent him some photos of the dog.
Allan confirmed that the dog was his and quickly rushed to the sport where Mitzi was spotted. It turns out that Mitzi was stuck in muddy ground. Alan could not hide his joy when he finally reunited with his four-legged best friend. He thanked the Good Samaritan for helping him locate his dog.
