Dog left at shelter cries as her human walk away, days later, everything changes

The look on Mira was devastating. She could not resist whimpering as she watched her dad walking away. Mira even tried everything that she could to get out of the door and be reunited with her dad. Unfortunately, it was all in vain. What could she do other than cry?

But wait. The story keeps on unfolding, and you will undoubtedly be interested. Perhaps you might want to grab a tissue too.

Mira is a pitbull, just another dog abandoned by its owner, and without any remorse. Yet, even as Mira tried to figure out what was happening, her dad left and did not bother even turning his head. There was neither a goodbye kiss nor hug. It was both disappointing and heartbreaking.

Mira’s story is not new. In most cases, whenever a family is going through a rough patch or relocating, little or even no thought is given to pets. Perhaps, it is because most of these problems could take both physical and emotional tolls on the given family.

This problem is not only nuanced but also complicated. But sometimes there is hardly any option. These dogs mostly end up at the doorstep of shelters, weary, sad, and almost inconsolable. It is understandable since they are in a new situation and environment too.

Most of these dogs will hardly cope with the fact that their owners have left. Besides, adapting to life in these noisy and sometimes less comfortable shelters could be an uphill task for many of them. For this reason, you will find most of them depressed, unhappy, and leading miserable lives.

However, with this story shared by Chicago’s Trio Animal Foundation, there is a highlight of their losses. Besides, it points out the new begins that the shelter dogs need to go through. Some of them could be fortunate enough to get second chances—a better life in a more loving home.

Sometimes, getting the best and most loving home for these dogs could be hard, but worth the wait. Fortuitously, this is the story of Mira. Would you want to get her story? Well, here it is.

Yesterday, a man walked into an open-access shelter with his dog, Mira. He claimed that he was moving and no longer had much time for her.

Mira, happily wagging her tail, was so proud to be walking with her dad. It was not until that moment when they were removing her collar to replace it with a slip lead that she knew something was amiss. It was at this point that she turned, only to see her dad walking away.

As she watched her father walk away, Mira could not help but whimper. Once he got outside, she began crying for him. She tried to get to the door, an effort to be reunited with her dad. Her stress levels rapidly shot through the roof. But what more could she do than cry?

I knew she would end up very distraught if she were put in the general population with the other homeless dogs. I felt that if only I could ask if she could stay with me at the front desk, it would be much easier to keep her calm. Well, this is how she ended up in my car.

Mira will be adopted through TAF’s rescue division called Project Rescue Chicago. This 3-year old is potty-trained, and dog and children friendly. However, she is yet to be tested with cats.

After sharing her details online, Mira got a new dad on 1st November. And do you know what happened next?

Last week, Mira sat agitatedly, crying at the entrance of the open-access dog shelter. Her heart was crushed into millions of pieces. Only a caring and gentle man would mend her emotional wounds.

As fate would have it, that man walked right into her life. He was ready to ease her pain and show her new love.

A while back, Mira’s new dad lost his senior pittie girl to cancer. For this reason, the thought of bringing in a new puppy was relatively painful. However, the despair in Mira’s eyes broke him yet made him realize that they need to be together.

That very day, Mira’s new dad filled all the relevant adoption forms. And like they say, the rest is history.

Now, Mira has a new dad. Two broken hearts are together and seeking happiness once more.

Let us go back a few steps. The man who adopted Mira had lost his pet. Now that he has her, they are both happy together.

In this regard, it is relatively easy to highlight the difference that we can make in an animal’s life. For as long as we can adopt them from these shelters, they will feel much safer.

We hope and wish Mira and her new dad a beautiful life ahead.
