There is a reason why pooches are regarded as man’s best friend. There is so much that they have in common with us, including their incredible demeanours, resiliency loyalty and love.
That is why volunteers from the Plainfield Humane Society couldn’t just sit and do nothing when they received information that a dog that goes by the name Sarge was eating couch to survive. According to Volunteers from the Plainfield Humane society.
The dog was left without a caregiver after his former owner died inside the house. As a result, the dog had no choice but to eat couch to avoid starving. At the time of rescue, the volunteered realized that the dog only weighed around 30 pounds, which is way below the average dog weight, which is about 60 pounds.
Sarge is a Pitbull, and her age is believed to be between 15 -17 years. Upon notification, one of the police officers from the local police station named Anthony Louise immediately rushed to the scene to see what was happening. According to the officer, what he saw was heartbreaking.
He said that what he saw in Sarge were skin and bone. The kind officer was immediately touched and know that he had to do something to help the poor dog. He quickly gave the pooch something to drink and eat to help her regain her already depleted strength.
In an interview, the police officer said that he noticed that the dog looked old and was in a terrible state. Since the dog caregiver had already died, Officer Louise made a brave decision to adopt the dog.
He said that he was well aware that the dog only had a few years left to live but said that he was willing to take the risk and adopt the pooch. He further pointed out that he aimed to give the dog the best life for the remaining years of her life.
According to Officer Louise, it would be a mockery to his conscious, let alone his profession, if he chose to ignore the dog’s plight. He is convinced that he can provide
Sarge with a loving home for the remainder of her life. He said that it was heartbreaking to watch the dog in her current state and he could no longer bear to see her suffer. So, he decided to adopt the dog and take good care of her for the remainder for her life.
Officer Louise pointed out that he already have other pets in his house but was okay to create room for Sarge. Louse said that he already has two dogs and two cats in his home and was convinced that the addition of Sarge into the family would make their lives happier.
He pointed out that his kids love pets and would be delighted to know that another dog is added into the family. Presence of pets not only makes them happy but also help them stay active all day.
Additionally, Officer Louise also pointed out that the interaction that his kids have with pets will help them to understand them better, a factor that will help them develop a sense of heart for animals. He is convinced that his children will also cherish animals once they grow up.
Before Officer Louise took Sarge to his new lovely home, he first took her to the local veterinary clinic where she was checked and given necessary treatment. He had the dog checked not only to ensure that it does not pose a health threat to his family but also ensure that she is in good health.
Many people have applauded officer Louise kind heart.
